Rose Folsom, a lay Dominican, was raised in a home affected by alcoholism. She later dated a young man addicted to drugs and alcohol.

Rose wrote in her journal that she felt like a “shattered mirror.” She experienced intense anxiety and looked for others’ approval to find a sense of identity. 

Rose went to Al-Anon. “Al-Anon is a mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking.”

This began a journey of healing and new life for Rose.

Amy D'Ambra of My Saint My Hero shares the story of accompanying her beloved sister, Judy as she prepared for Heaven.

Amy is the youngest of five sisters. Judy was diagnosed with a rapid-progressing form of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) almost two years ago.

This diagnosis took Amy and those dearest to her on a journey of the soul. One of the greatest lessons: to use our voices courageously to share the love of God while on Earth and keep our hearts fixated on spending forever with Him in Heaven.
